The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a comprehensive water treatment program for its boiler systems, cooling towers, heating water circulating systems, and chilled water systems at the Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) in Farmington, Minnesota. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary chemicals, testing reagents, and equipment to ensure optimal system performance, reduce energy consumption, and minimize maintenance costs. This includes scale and corrosion control, biological control, and closed-loop treatment. The program aims to maintain clean heat transfer surfaces, free from scale, corrosion, and biological growth. The contractor must provide knowledgeable service personnel, conduct regular on-site visits (bi-weekly), and ensure rapid response times for emergencies (within two hours). All chemicals must be available on the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule. The contractor will also be responsible for drum handling and disposal, and will provide training to FAA personnel on water treatment program implementation and monitoring. Additionally, the contractor must possess in-house laboratory capabilities for various analyses, including corrosion coupon analysis, water analysis, deposit analysis, and microbiological analysis, and be ISO 9001:2000 certified. The contract requires a minimum of ten years in business with annual sales exceeding $15 million, and the service representative must have at least five years of experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
