Beaufort County Sheriff's Office New Bloodhound Kennel Facility Design Services
Beaufort County, SC Capital Projects
Beaufort County, South Carolina is seeking proposals from qualified architectural and engineering firms to provide professional design services for a new Bloodhound Kennel Facility. This solicitation is for design services only; construction services are procured separately. The new facility will replace obsolete kennels and is intended for the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. The proposed site for the new facility is the Beaufort County Animal Shelter Campus at 10 Pritcher Point Road, Okatie, South Carolina. The facility is expected to be approximately 1,400 square feet with a building footprint of roughly 37'x37' and will include eight individual dog runs, a feed/preparation room, and a wash area. The design must be value-engineered, compatible with the existing Animal Shelter campus, and utilize durable, low-maintenance materials suitable for a coastal South Carolina environment. It must also be fully climate-controlled with options for a primary central HVAC system or approximately three mini-split systems. Electrical and lighting design should be code-compliant and energy-efficient, and plumbing should include hose bibs, wash-down systems, and waste drainage. Site requirements include a minimum 50-foot setback from property lines and a 20-foot landscaped buffer, with compliance to all zoning, environmental, and stormwater regulations. All design work must adhere to South Carolina Building Codes, Beaufort County ordinances, and applicable health and animal welfare standards, as well as ADA and accessibility requirements.
