Legal Services for Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure

The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure (KBML) is seeking proposals for legal services to represent the board in potential KRS Chapter 13B petitions for judicial review and/or injunctive actions in circuit courts. The selected legal counsel will be responsible for representing the KBML in various court proceedings, including appearing in hearings, presenting arguments, preparing filings, and conducting legal research. The scope of work encompasses aggressively pursuing or defending actions, scheduling conferences, and coordinating with Board counsel. Compensation for these services will not exceed $125 per hour for partners and appellate cases, and $100 per hour for associates, in accordance with the Government Contract Review Committee's maximum rate schedule. Travel expenses will be reimbursed at rates not exceeding those for state employees, with meals and lodging reimbursed only if an overnight stay is required. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical qualifications, including experience as legal counsel for state boards, litigation experience, and judicial clerkship history, as well as cost proposals.
