Carlton Street Bridge Replacement Project

The City of Garwin is soliciting bids for the Carlton Street Bridge Replacement project. This project involves the removal of the existing bridge structure and the installation of a new box culvert located east of the intersection of Carlton Street and 4th Street. The anticipated contract commencement is within ten days of the Notice to Proceed, following contract execution and a pre-construction meeting. The project completion deadline is December 1, 2026. Bidders must submit proposals by 10:00 AM local time on June 1, 2026, to the City Clerk at City Hall, 208 Main Street, Garwin, Iowa 50632. Proposals will be opened by the City and will not be open to the public. The City of Garwin reserves the right to award the contract at the meeting on June 1, 2026, or a later time, and to reject any or all bids. Bidders must provide a bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, issued by a responsible surety approved by the City of Garwin. This bond will guarantee faithful performance, prompt payment for labor and materials, and protection from claims for two years from final acceptance.
