The School Board of the City of Richmond (Richmond Public Schools) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to establish one or more term contracts for Athletic Training Services. These services are intended to support the health, safety, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes participating in middle and high school athletics, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The selected provider will be responsible for a comprehensive range of services including clinical evaluation, emergency care, and therapeutic intervention. Key responsibilities for the assigned athletic trainers include preparing athletes for practice and competition, evaluating and managing injuries, implementing treatment and rehabilitation programs, maintaining accurate medical records, and communicating with coaches, parents, and physicians. Services must adhere to the standards set by the Virginia Board of Medicine and the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA). All assigned personnel must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice Athletic Training in Virginia and be Board Certified (ATC) by the Board of Certification (BOC), with a minimum of three years of clinical experience in a high school or collegiate athletic setting. Proposals must be submitted electronically via Richmond Public Schools' e-Procurement Portal by June 19, 2026. The evaluation criteria will focus on Offeror Qualifications and Experience (35%), Technical Approach (35%), and Key Personnel (30%). Pricing will be negotiated with the top-ranked offeror(s) after the technical evaluation.
