Tissue and Cellular Therapy Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Request for Information

The University of Iowa is seeking written information from qualified suppliers regarding Tissue and Cellular Therapy Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) software products and services. This RFI aims to gather details on current market offerings, features, functionalities, and costs to help develop future Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The University is currently using a combination of internally developed tools, including a Microsoft Access database and separate Excel spreadsheets, to manage product tracking and processing calculations. These systems are no longer maintainable or modifiable. The University is interested in understanding the capabilities of current LIMS solutions, including their ability to manage product and process tracking, perform calculations, and provide robust reporting and support. Suppliers are requested to provide detailed information on their proposed solutions, including features, functionalities, implementation costs, software subscription and maintenance fees, and support capabilities. The University is particularly interested in solutions that can support high-volume data management, integrate with existing systems like Epic, and comply with relevant regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and FDA guidelines. The RFI also seeks information on supplier experience, financial stability, and data security practices. No award will be made from this RFI; its purpose is to inform the development of future RFPs.
