The State of Iowa is soliciting bids for water treatment chemicals and services to maintain the steam and chilled water systems within the Capitol Complex. The goal is to ensure peak operating efficiencies, minimize maintenance, and prevent corrosion, fouling, and biological growth using safe and environmentally friendly products. The awarded contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary chemicals, training, equipment, and testing supplies, including water sampling, analysis, and testing kits. The scope of work includes initial water analysis, providing liquid chemical systems, treating boilers to prevent scale and corrosion, monthly testing and monitoring of all treated systems with written reports, annual corrosion studies, bulk chemical delivery services, and proper disposal of containers. The contractor must also provide twenty-four-hour emergency response services and Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used. The contract term is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with the sole option for the Agency to renew for up to five (5) annual extensions. The resulting contract will be available to all State Agencies. Bids are due by 2:00 PM CST on Tuesday, June 12th, 2026, and must be submitted electronically via the IMPACS Electronic Procurement System.
