Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority Maintenance
The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA), also known as Cincinnati Metro, is soliciting proposals for comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair services for its Radio, Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD)/Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), and Automatic Passenger Counter (APC) systems. This contract is for a five-year term and is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of SORTA's transit services. The scope of work includes routine maintenance such as software/firmware updates, component troubleshooting, and equipment removal/installation for approximately 330 buses, 60 paratransit vehicles, 46 micro-transit vehicles, and 44 non-revenue vehicles. Additionally, SORTA operates fixed site equipment at two towers (Valley View and Taylor Mill) and maintains approximately 65 portable radios. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring all systems are fully operational, including performance quality checks, signal strength verification, interference testing, and firmware/software updates to maximize operating quality and efficiency. Repair services must be scheduled and performed in a timely manner to minimize disruption to daily operations. The contractor must be able to provide 24-hour on-call service for emergencies and be on-site within three hours of a call, if necessary. All work on SORTA's mobile units must be performed at SORTA's facilities. The contractor will be required to provide evidence of at least five years of similar work experience on similar equipment and will be responsible for all necessary labor, hardware, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment. Parts, modules, and sub-assemblies for Radio, CAD/AVL, and APC equipment are the sole property of SORTA.
