Description

The Nashua School District (NSD) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms for integrated pest management (IPM) services. The goal is to deliver effective pest control while reducing the volume and toxicity of pesticides used, and minimizing human and environmental exposure. The selected contractor will be responsible for all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary for surveillance, trapping, and pesticide application as part of the IPM program. Additionally, the contractor will provide detailed, site-specific recommendations for procedural or physical modifications to enhance pest prevention. The scope of services includes dealing with common indoor pests such as ants, roaches, silverfish, water bugs, spiders, drain flies, mice, and rats. The program involves facility assessments, reporting, and recommendations for IPM measures and physical plant improvements. The contractor will also implement the IPM measures according to an approved schedule and service intervals, provide necessary certifications and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all pesticides, maintain a pest control logbook for each facility, and notify the Plant Operations Office before pesticide application. Additional services for issues beyond the standard scope, such as bee/wasp nests, birds, bats, snakes, and other vertebrates, will be provided on an hourly time and material basis within 24 hours of notification. Termite discoveries will also require a proposed extermination plan. To qualify for bidding, firms must be licensed to apply pesticides in New Hampshire, employ a minimum of one certified commercial supervisory applicator license for every five certified commercial operational applicators, provide proof of appropriate insurance, and ensure all contractor personnel wear distinctive uniform clothing. Proposals must include a general profile of the firm, its experience in facility pest management assessments, key personnel qualifications, examples of past IPM projects, client references, and contact information. Award will be based on qualifications and price. The initial contract period is from September 8, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with consideration for four one-year renewal periods.
