Description

The New Mexico Law Offices of the Public Defender (LOPD), through its Contract Counsel Legal Services (CCLS) division, is soliciting proposals for contract counsel to represent indigent adult and juvenile criminal clients. This service is mandated by the Sixth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and state law, adhering to the LOPD Performance Standards for Criminal Defense Representation. The contract period will be from November 1, 2026, to October 31, 2029. Interested attorneys must submit proposals by 4:00 p.m. (MDT) on July 6, 2026.
