The United States Senate, Office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is requesting quotations for an Industrial Web-fed Press System. This system is intended to support roll widths from 14 to 22 inches and core sizes of 3 or 6 inches, with an unwinder and rewinder for continuous roll-to-roll printing. The system must be capable of duplex/perfecting four-color process printing with front-to-back registration within industry standards. It should print on various substrates including uncoated offset, coated, silk, and dull stocks, supporting paper weights from 45 to 270 gsm. The required print quality is 1200x1200 dpi or 200 lpi at a minimum speed of 250 feet per minute (fpm), and 1200x600 dpi at a minimum speed of 450 fpm. The system must include a camera system for JDF commands, an ink nozzle monitoring system, and color management software. Optional features include a web-fed finishing line, inline sheeter with automatic stacking, perforating and scoring capabilities, a plow folding unit, waste evacuation system, dual-cylinder cutter, paper extraction unit with grinder, six-buckle plate folding unit with glue heads, and a hot glue tank. The system must also support TCP/IP connections, be UL certified, and meet specific electrical, environmental, and hardware/software security requirements, including data encryption and storage within the United States. Installation, initial testing, and training for six operators across two shifts are required within 90 days of award. The system comes with a one-year warranty starting after a 30-day acceptance testing period.
