Description

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the repainting of their 55,000-gallon LNG storage tank, located at 10-12 Wisconsin Avenue, Norwich, CT. This project involves the complete removal, abatement, and remediation of existing coatings, lead, and Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) containing materials from the tank and its concrete supports. The scope of work includes surface preparation, application of a new coating system, and proper waste management and disposal in accordance with all applicable regulations. Contractors must possess specific certifications, including AMPP/SSPC QP-1 and QP-2, and have on-site personnel with relevant certifications such as AMPP C3/C5 Supervisor, AMPP Coatings Inspector Level 1, OSHA 30-hour, and HAZWOPER training. The project requires the tank to remain in service, and all work within the tank berm must use intrinsically safe tools. The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, containment, environmental controls, and waste management necessary for project completion.
