The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is conducting market research for commercial roofing supplies to replace the roof of the Fargo Building at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Yankton, located in Yankton, South Dakota. The BOP anticipates a firm-fixed-price contract for engineered polymer shakes that replicate the aesthetic of hand-split shakes while offering enhanced durability and resistance to fire and impact. The required materials must be one-piece hip and ridge shakes, aged cedar in color, with dimensions of 9" Width x 22" Length and 5/8" thickness at the butt. They should be suitable for pitches of 12:12 or less and capable of being cut with a utility knife or circular saw. Approximately 6,600 square feet of hip and ridge roofing material is needed. Prospective vendors should be aware that the project site is within the "Yankton College Historic District," listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All materials must comply with the existing Programmatic Agreement between the BOP, the South Dakota State Historic Preservation Office, and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. The BOP is seeking feedback on the most appropriate NAICS code, with potential options including 324122 (Asphalt Shingle and Coating Materials Manufacturing) or 326199 (All Other Plastics Product Manufacturing).
