Pierce County is soliciting proposals for capital costs associated with the development of one or more state-licensed residential facilities designed to serve individuals with behavioral health needs. The facilities must accept Medicaid, provide Medicaid-reimbursable medical and behavioral health services onsite, be located within a city, town, or Urban Growth Area, provide essential services to residents, and be operated by a provider with demonstrated experience in serving individuals with behavioral health disorders. At least 50 beds must be dedicated to serving individuals with behavioral health needs who qualify for Medicaid. The facilities must be licensed by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services and/or the Washington State Department of Health. A total of $3,000,000 in funding is available through the Maureen Howard Affordable Housing Sales Tax funds for this initiative. The contract period is expected to be 24 months with potential for extension.
