This solicitation is for the provision of various meat products to Danville State Hospital for the months of July, August, and September in 2026. The products must be processed or manufactured in plants inspected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service or an equivalent approved agency. All meat and meat products must meet the requirements of the Institutional Meat Purchase Specifications (IMPS) or applicable specifications from the Department of Public Welfare. Items must be labeled with product identification, date of pack, name and location of packer or distributor, net weight, and ingredient statement. All products received must have a minimum of 30 days remaining before the "sell-by" or expiration date. Deliveries will be made on clean refrigerated or freezer trucks, with chilled items delivered at not higher than 40°F and frozen items at not higher than 10°F. Packaging must be secure and meet specified standards. Vendors are responsible for ensuring products meet all specifications and may be subject to laboratory analysis at their expense if found non-compliant. Acceptable brands must be specified by the bidder, and products must be pre-approved by the Food Specification Committee. Deliveries are scheduled as specified in the contract, with quantities subject to increase or decrease based on actual facility requirements. The Commonwealth will pay only for actual net weight or count determined at the time of delivery.
