Painting and Body Repair Service for NJ TRANSIT Non-Revenue Vehicles

NJ TRANSIT is seeking a comprehensive, five-year blanket agreement for painting and body repair services, including all necessary parts and labor, for its fleet of non-revenue vehicles. This is a two-step Invitation for Bid (IFB) process. Step One requires bidders to be pre-qualified by NJ TRANSIT by submitting a Pre-Qualification Package by April 17, 2026. Only pre-qualified bidders will be eligible to participate in Step Two, which involves submitting bid prices. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Bidders must have at least five years of experience in automobile and truck bodywork repair and painting, possess a facility with a minimum 15-foot ceiling height and a paint booth capable of accommodating heavy-duty vehicles, and have a repair facility located within a 100-mile radius of NJ TRANSIT's Central Maintenance Facility in Newark, NJ. The scope of work includes general body repair, manufacturing specialized body parts, welding, frame straightening, electrical and mechanical work related to body damage, and priming and painting according to specifications. Bidders must also comply with various state and federal regulations, including those related to equal employment opportunity, and meet SBE/DVOB goals.
