Description

The Department of the Navy, Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to the University of California, San Diego for radiological support testing of Radiation Detection Indication, and Computation (RADIAC) detectors and systems. This testing will involve the use of radioactive materials, including gamma ray and neutron sources from the contractor's inventory. The scope includes standard acceptance testing of detectors, system testing for algorithm performance, and concept development. The contractor will be responsible for handling radioactive materials and establishing safe radiological boundaries. The government intends to negotiate solely with the University of California, San Diego under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1905 and 3305, as implemented by FAR Part 13. However, all responsible sources within San Diego County are invited to submit a bid, proposal, or quotation for consideration.
