]BID# 2026-026 Diesel Tank Upgrade and Gas Tank Installation
The City of Auburn Public Works Department is soliciting proposals for upgrades to its petroleum system at the Auburn Public Works facility. This project includes enhancing the existing diesel tank to meet current codes and improve functionality, as well as installing a new 2500-gallon above-ground gasoline tank equipped with a fuel management and tank monitoring system. The scope of work also encompasses necessary permitting with the Maine Fire Marshall and DEP. Specific upgrades for the diesel tank include a new stainless steel remote fill box, an overfill prevention valve, and hardware for the existing fuel pump, such as a new hose and breakaway. The project also involves saw-cutting and removing asphalt, followed by pouring new concrete pads for the tank and traffic areas, and installing guardrails around the new gasoline tank for protection. The new gasoline tank installation includes a double-walled Fireguard tank with a stainless steel fill box, overfill prevention valve, emergency vents, and appropriate decals. A high-gallonage suction pump will be installed. The project also requires the supply and installation of a FuelForce fuel management system to control both gasoline and diesel pumps, featuring an island-mounted controller, card reader, and annual site license. Additionally, a Veeder-Root TLS4B tank monitoring console with automatic tank gauges and interstitial sensors will be installed, along with audible/visual overfill alarms. Electrical work for these components is also included.
