This grant program aims to support States, Tribal governments, and research institutions in advancing the domestic maple syrup industry. Key activities include promoting research and education on maple syrup production, fostering natural resource sustainability within the industry, and enhancing market promotion for maple syrup and related products. The program also encourages landowners to initiate or expand maple-sugaring activities on their properties or make their land available for public access for such activities. Eligibility is open to States, Tribal governments, and research institutions across all US states and territories. Research institutions are defined as organizations that typically conduct research with both non-Federal and Federal funds. The Assistance Listing number for this program is 10.174, and it is estimated that approximately $5,000,000 in total funding is available for an expected 10 awards, with individual award amounts ranging from $200,000 to $500,000.
