The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, requires the supply and delivery of Type I and Type II road base material for the Hansen Horse Trail access road and parking area. The project is located south of Brown's Lake Road, between Rabbit Run Road and Royce Street, in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. The base bid includes supplying 1000 cubic yards of Type I road base and 500 cubic yards of Type II road base, with transportation from a commercial material site to the project location using dump trucks. Delivery is scheduled for August 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with a daily delivery rate of 180 to 250 cubic yards. An alternate bid includes supplying the same quantities of road base material, but transported from a commercial material site within 8 miles of the intersection of Rabbit Run Road and Funny River Road. In this scenario, US Fish & Wildlife employees will transport the materials using 10-cubic-yard dump trucks, loaded by the vendor using a loader with a minimum 3-cubic-yard bucket. The material specifications adhere to Kenai Peninsula Borough Road Standards for Type I & II Roads.
