Rise Up: Building Capacity for HIV Prevention in Faith-Based Settings
Public Health Solutions
This Request for Proposals (RFP) aims to increase access to HIV prevention for Latino and Black faith communities in New York City. The initiative, named 'Rise Up,' seeks to strengthen the ability of faith-based organizations (FBOs) to effectively engage these communities in meaningful HIV prevention efforts. Despite a recent increase in new HIV diagnoses in NYC, particularly among Latino and Black populations, FBOs have historically played a crucial role in health interventions due to their community trust and influence. This program will leverage the expertise of community-based organizations (CBOs) in capacity building and outreach to support FBOs in overcoming challenges such as stigma, misinformation, and resource limitations. Proposals are being solicited for two service categories: one focused on Latino faith communities and the other on Black faith communities.
