Harrington Hall Parapet Cap Repairs

This solicitation is for the removal and replacement of existing cast stone parapet caps on Harrington Hall at the University of North Dakota. The scope of work includes replacing deteriorated units, mortar, sealant, and accessories. The contractor will be responsible for verifying field dimensions, maintaining weatherproofing, and protecting adjacent materials during the repair process. New parapet caps will be architectural cast stone, factory-manufactured to match existing color, finish, and texture, with continuous drip kerfs and appropriate control joints. Installation requires setting units on a full bed of mortar, maintaining uniform joint widths, and applying compatible sealant at control, expansion, and abutment joints. Anchorage will be mechanical where required, using stainless steel. The contractor must provide a minimum 5-year manufacturer warranty against material defects. The project is scheduled for substantial completion by August 21, 2026.
