City of Arcata 2026 Timber Sale

The City of Arcata is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of approximately 430 MBF of FSC Certified timber. The timber consists of approximately 300 MBF of redwood, 110 MBF of Douglas fir, and 20 MBF of western hemlock. This timber is to be harvested from a stand of 100-112 year old trees located in the Arcata Community Forest, Jacoby Creek Tract. The successful purchaser will be responsible for harvesting the timber and delivering it to their own yard or a similar designated location. Additionally, the purchaser must pay the requisite portion of State Timber Yield Taxes. Bids must be clearly marked "TIMBER SALE BID 2026" and submitted to the Arcata City Manager's Office by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Specifications are available on the City's website or from the Contracts and Special Projects Manager. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and the award may be made at the Arcata City Council Meeting on July 15, 2026.
