Dane County is soliciting applications from organizations interested in operating a program to benefit low- and moderate-income business owners within the Dane County Urban County Consortium. The primary focus of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is on economic development activities eligible for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, specifically serving microenterprise and low-to-moderate income business owners. The maximum funding available for this economic development project area is approximately $168,000, with the expectation that multiple projects will be funded. Individual applications can request a maximum of $60,000. Applicants must complete the CDBG application in its entirety and electronically sign it to be considered for funding. Eligible applicants include municipalities, non-profit organizations, or for-profit organizations specializing in technical assistance for microenterprise businesses. The businesses supported must be located within the Dane County Urban County Consortium. Technical assistance may include workshops, business education, individualized assistance, market assessment, management advice, and before/after loan consultation.
