Acid Pit Elimination and Backfilling Project in Ohio County, Kentucky

This project involves the elimination of approximately 1.4 acres of acid pits with a highwall spanning 2900 linear feet. The highwall and pits will be backfilled with onsite mine spoil material at slopes no steeper than 3:1, and blasting will not be permitted. Water in the pits will be treated to a pH of 6 or greater before release and backfilling, in accordance with KYDAML Technical Specifications. Tree removal (over 3-inches DBH) will occur between October 15th and March 31st to protect imperiled bats. Bids must be submitted online only through the Commonwealth's eProcurement system. Emailed or hard copies will not be accepted. Bidders must enter $0.00 for the Contract Amount in the e-procurement system and upload the Official Bid Document with the actual Contract Amount as an attachment. The Official Bid Document and Bid Bond (if required) should be combined as one PDF and uploaded.
