Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for eight (8) Red Angus bulls. These bulls are intended to maintain the reproductive success of cow herds at the Oklahoma and Central Plains Agricultural Research Center (OCPARC) facilities located in El Reno and Fort Supply, Oklahoma. The acquisition is set aside for small business concerns. The specifications require bulls to meet certain genetic trait requirements, including calving ease, birth weight, weaning and yearling weight, milk production, marbling, yield grade, carcass weight, ribeye area, and fat cover. One bull with higher calving ease metrics suitable for heifers is specifically requested. The bulls must be delivered within 30 days of contract award. The vendor must provide a Virgin Bull Affidavit and the bulls will be inspected and tested for diseases upon delivery. The bulls are warranted to be sound and fertile for 12 months, with provisions for credit on replacement bulls if they fail to remain sound and fertile.
