Blackwater Property Hunt Club Lease

Isle of Wight County is requesting sealed bids from qualified hunt clubs to lease hunting rights on two properties: the Northern Tracts (Tax Map Parcel Numbers 16-01-007, 26-01-001, 26-01-002, 27-01-012, 27-01-011, 27-01-014 and 27-01-019) and the Southern Tract (Tax Map Parcel Number 27-01-015). The contract will be for one year, beginning on the date of execution, with an option for the County to extend for five additional one-year terms. Rent will be adjusted by three percent annually during renewal terms. The hunting period will align with specific seasons designated by the Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), with hunting permitted only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during these seasons. Selected hunt clubs will be responsible for maintaining trails and roads year-round, and for opening and closing gates during the hunting season. Adherence to a Conservation Easement, including restrictions on improvements, livestock, vegetation removal, and vehicle use, is mandatory.
