Little Cuyahoga River Lowhead Dam Removal

The City of Akron is soliciting bids for the removal of existing dam structures at two sites along the Little Cuyahoga River. The project aims to improve aquatic and terrestrial habitats. At the River Street site, work will involve the demolition of abandoned structures, walls, and appurtenances, followed by the installation of a rock toe, excavation, and the creation of constructed riffles and native plantings. The Kent Street site requires the removal of the remaining dam and associated structures, the construction of a rock riffle and pool, and grading of the river bank.
