Liquid Calcium Chloride for Winter Operations

The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking competitive bids for the supply of Liquid Calcium Chloride for the upcoming winter season. The contracted vendor(s) will be responsible for delivering the liquid calcium chloride to designated DOT garages statewide. Deliveries must be made F.O.B. Destination within 7 calendar days after receipt of order, to various locations including Des Moines, Grimes, Perry, Osceola, Albia, Martensdale, Bloomfield, Williamsburg, Marion, Tipton, and Anamosa. Trucks must be equipped with a meter or other accurate measuring device, and the quantity delivered must be recorded on each delivery ticket. Vendors are responsible for all equipment needed to transfer the product into DOT storage tanks. The product lot number must be clearly legible on the bill of lading for each delivery. Minimum order quantity is 1,000 gallons, up to full loads. The product must meet AASHTO M144 requirements for liquid form, with a minimum of 32% calcium chloride solution. No corrosion inhibitors are to be included. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product specification sheets must accompany each delivery. Invoices must be emailed to the Iowa DOT Winter Operations Administrator.
