Description

The City of Omaha is soliciting bids for a project that involves replacing generators at multiple facilities, installing a new generator at one site, and modifying an existing unit at another. The scope of work encompasses the procurement of generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS), concrete construction, natural gas piping and boring, and electrical integration to ensure fully functional, automated backup power systems. This project has a Small and Emerging Small Business (SEB) reserve. Bidders who are not registered with the SEB program are invited to submit bids, but their bids will only be considered if no bids are received from authorized SEB bidders. Non-SEB authorized bids will be automatically rejected if SEB authorized bids are received and evaluated. Additionally, the project requires the submission of an Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP) and qualifies for an optional Apprentice utilization incentive. A bid bond is required, and the surety company must be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Circular 570. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond include certified checks, official bank checks, or cashier's checks.
