Description

This solicitation is for the supply of 51 calves. The animals should weigh between 400-500 lbs each and be between 6-24 months of age. The preferred breed is Hereford, with Black Angus or Charolais as secondary options. Brahman breeds are prohibited. The animals must be sourced from a farm within a 60-mile radius of Kerrville, TX, and the host facility for inspection and loading must also be within this radius. The host facility must be equipped for professional sorting and loading of the cattle. The Government will conduct inspections and reserves the right to make multiple visits to select the required quantity. Transportation of the selected animals to the USDA-ARS Knipling-Bushland U.S. Livestock Insects Research Laboratory will be provided by the Government.
