Description

Champaign County is soliciting bids for the installation of photovoltaic (solar) systems at two of its facilities: the Champaign County Pope Jail and the Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center. The project at the Juvenile Detention Center involves an approximate 125kW system, while the Pope Jail will receive an approximate 500kW system. Key aspects of the project include the complete installation of the solar photovoltaic systems, adhering to all National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and any local codes that supersede it. This encompasses the installation of modules, inverters, combiner boxes, ground mounting structures, and monitoring systems. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of the installation, from procurement and site preparation to final testing and commissioning. The bid due date has been revised to May 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Bidders are required to acknowledge Addendum No. 1. The county reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting specifications.
