HAAS Horizontal CNC Lathe

The Department of the Air Force, specifically the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) located at Arnold AFB, TN, intends to solicit and award a purchase order for one brand-name-only HAAS horizontal CNC lathe. This requirement is restricted to Phillips Corporation (CAGE Code 3MPQ0) due to the need for compatibility with existing AEDC infrastructure, including operator knowledge, programming software, and compatible tooling. Market research confirmed that Phillips Corporation is the only authorized HAAS reseller for the Federal Government and that existing Government-wide contracts cannot meet this specific requirement. The lathe must be a Haas ST20 Small Horizontal CNC Lathe. Key specifications include a 20 HP rating, variable speed up to 4000 RPM, a spindle capacity of at least 3.5 inches with a bar capability of 2.5 inches in diameter, and a hydraulic chuck. It will feature a 12-station, 24-position turret and the manufacturer's latest control system with a 10-inch minimum color LCD, compatible with FANUC protocol, and conversational programming. The machine must have X and Z axis travels of at least 8 inches and 22 inches respectively, with repeatability and positioning accuracy of +/- .0001". The contractor shall provide all necessary hardware for installation, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, electrical manuals, schematics, a standard tooling package, and a hydraulic collet chuck with a collet package. The machine will be warranted for 24 months after installation. The contractor must be capable of responding to repair service calls on-site within 36 hours and delivering repair parts within 48 hours after placement of an order. Delivery is FOB Arnold Air Force Base, TN, with installation to be supervised by factory-trained servicemen.
