Description

NASA's Technology Transfer Program is offering a freeze-resistant hydration system for licensing. This innovative system is designed to prevent water from freezing in the tubing, container, and mouthpiece, even in extreme cold conditions down to minus 40 degrees Celsius with 15-mile-per-hour winds over a 12-hour period. Originally conceived by an astronaut-mountaineer, this technology addresses the significant risk of dehydration in high-altitude environments. Companies interested in commercializing, manufacturing, and marketing this technology can obtain license rights, which may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. To express interest, please submit a license application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/MSC-TOPS-21.
