Crumbling Concrete Foundation Remediation Services
Capitol Region Council Governments
The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) is seeking qualified contractors experienced in concrete foundation replacement for privately owned homes. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) aims to establish a list of approved contractors to assist homeowners in Central and Eastern Connecticut who require remediation for foundations damaged by pyrrhotite. The scope of work typically involves lifting or supporting the home, removing the existing foundation and footings, and installing new ones. Alternative methods will be considered if explicitly explained and supported by a proven track record. Qualified respondents will be added to a list available to individual property owners. CRCOG will not be a party to any contracts between contractors and homeowners, nor will it be responsible for contract performance or payment. Firms must submit their qualifications through crcog.bonfirehub.com, including a completed questionnaire, fee proposal detailing per-unit costs for foundation replacement and related items (decks, landscaping, sidewalks), a service description with marketing materials and sub-consultant information, and proof of required insurance (General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Worker's Compensation). Responses will be evaluated based on accuracy, quality, thoroughness, qualifications of the firm and personnel, successful performance of similar work, timeliness, overall approach, and costs. The selection process involves an evaluation committee reviewing submissions, potentially requesting additional technical information, and ultimately selecting qualified vendors for the project list. This initiative is intended to help individual homeowners identify qualified service providers, with no guarantee of business volume.
