Description

The Bureau of Indian Affairs requires the replacement of an existing natural gas generator for OJS Buildings 1328 & 1329 located at 15994 Hwy 287 and 15596 Hwy 287 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. The current generator is in disrepair, only supplied backup power to one building, and has surpassed its expected service date. The scope of work includes verifying the total load demand for both buildings and sizing a new natural gas generator to meet or exceed minimum requirements. The contractor will purchase and install a new natural gas generator with appropriate wattage, cabling, and switch rack configuration. The new generator must be from an industry-recognized manufacturer and meet specifications including a minimum kW amount, liquid cooling, an inline X cylinder engine, 120/240 volts single phase, a 200-amp main line circuit breaker, a sound-attenuated weather enclosure, critical silencer, fuel flex line, a thermostatically controlled 1000-watt engine block heater, battery, and battery trickle charger. The project also involves the removal and disposal of the existing generator and any associated debris, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local pollution regulations. The contractor will assess and potentially replace or expand the existing concrete pad to accommodate the new generator. All labor, equipment, and materials, including transportation, receipt, and storage of the new generator, are the contractor's responsibility. The contractor must ensure compatibility between the new generator and existing system components, and provide training to Facilities staff on basic maintenance and operation. Installation must comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Electrical Code (NEC), TTS171:Part1:2015, and NFPA(r)110 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems.
