Curbside Recycling Containers for Westchester County

The County of Westchester is soliciting bids for the supply of curbside recycling containers. These containers will be made of high-density polyethylene and will be available in blue and green. They must feature seamless construction, at least two handles, drain holes, bottom impact feet, and be shatter-resistant. The containers are required to have a five-year warranty against cracking, deterioration, rotting, warping, or discoloration. Bidders must provide a sample of the offered container and include a written statement proving its performance in drop impact tests. The bid must also specify the amount of recycled material used in the container's manufacture, with a minimum of 20% for 18-22 gallon bins and 10% for 14-16 gallon bins. Pricing is requested on a "per each" basis for two imprint options: one with custom municipality logos and another with standard recycling arrows and "We Recycle" text. The contract term will be two years from the date of award, with options to extend for up to three additional one-year periods. Municipalities within Westchester County may purchase under this contract on an as-needed basis.
