Description

This funding opportunity supports projects aimed at enhancing the marine community in Alaska through workforce development, improved seafood safety and management, technological innovation in fishing, consumer outreach, and strengthened seafood supply chains. Projects must be conducted in Alaska and can focus on marine science and technology, fisheries and seafood-related training, outreach to consumers, incorporating traditional knowledge into fishery management, or developing partnerships. Eligible applicants include individuals, commercial organizations, state, local, and tribal governments, institutions of higher education, and nonprofits. Federal agencies and their employees are not eligible. Projects may range from $15,000 to $75,000, with a total program funding of approximately $600,000. Projects can be between 1-2 years in duration.
