Auditing Services for Financial Statements

The City of Milford, Delaware is soliciting proposals from qualified certified public accounting firms to conduct audits of its financial statements for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2026, June 30, 2027, and June 30, 2028. The City reserves the option to extend the contract for two additional one-year periods. The audit services will include an examination and reporting on the City's internal control structure, compliance with generally accepted auditing standards, and reporting on the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards if required. Additional services requested include development of communications to those charged with governance, review of current and pending GASB guidance, annual meetings with City Council, and preparation of a detailed audit plan. The City also requires assistance in drafting the financial statements, a service that has been provided by the auditor since FY 2024. Proposals must be submitted by 3:30 PM local time on May 15, 2026, to the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, 201 S. Walnut Street, Milford, DE 19963. The City will select the most qualified firm based on a qualification-based selection process, considering factors such as experience, client references, ability to meet deliverables, and cost.
