Elevator and Escalator Service and Repair

This solicitation is for comprehensive service, repair, and maintenance of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation equipment. The contract may also be used for new installations if deemed appropriate by the Division of Purchases. Services include scheduled maintenance, emergency call-back service with defined response times, and repairs on an as-needed basis. The contractor will be responsible for all permit fees and ensuring compliance with Rhode Island General Laws and the National Elevator Code. This includes annual safety tests for elevators and escalators, and maintaining all original wiring diagrams. The contract also covers the outright purchase of parts on a cost-plus basis, with all parts delivered FOB destination and no shipping charges billed to the State. Labor rates are all-inclusive. Agencies will acquire a minimum of three quotes for monthly or one-year service agreements. For projects with a defined scope outside of the standard maintenance, a fixed fee lump sum award may be used, requiring a detailed itemized proposal. Time and materials awards are available for projects with uncertain specifications. Vendors must provide a copy of their current elevator license issued by the RI Department of Labor and Training. Proposals will be reviewed on a Pass/Fail basis.
