Network Systems Modernization for Alameda County
County of Alameda, CA General Services Agency-Procurement
The County of Alameda is initiating a comprehensive Network Modernization Project to upgrade its IT infrastructure. This project aims to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable network services across approximately 200 locations, supporting 30,000 wired switchports and 10,000 users. The modernization will focus on key areas including user and device authentication, network segmentation and security, high availability and flexibility, network visibility and security, hybrid and multi-cloud integration, data security and integrity, and AI security. The project emphasizes a Zero Trust architecture, aiming for continuous verification, least privilege access, and robust endpoint security. The County requires a contractor to provide end-to-end services, including design, procurement, deployment, integration, training, and operational support for both on-premises data centers and public cloud environments. The new architecture must integrate with existing County systems and adhere to modern security best practices and regulatory requirements. The contract will be for an initial three-year term with the option to renew for two additional years. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of experience in network and security modernization for organizations of similar size and complexity. The modernization effort is critical to supporting essential County operations and serving the County's approximately 1.6 million residents.
