Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey, on behalf of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems, is seeking sources to produce .338 Norma Magnum (NM) Anti-Materiel Precision Ammunition. This ammunition is intended for use in the U.S. Army's Mk22 Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR) platform, requiring a reliable supply of high-quality precision ammunition. The ammunition must meet the requirements outlined in Military Detailed Specification MIL-DTL-XM1224, which is marked Distribution D and requires specific procedures for access, including a signed DD 2345 Military Critical Technical Data Agreement and a Non-Disclosure and Non-Use Agreement. The cartridge case must reliably function at chamber pressures between 85 and 90 ksi, and the penetrator must be Class III Tungsten Heavy Alloy. The ammunition must demonstrate an average extreme spread of less than 1.0 Minute of Angle (MOA) and be compatible with the Mk22 rifle. The government is contemplating the award of a single Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to fulfill Fiscal Year 2028-2033 requirements. The estimated annual production quantity is between 600,000 and 1,500,000 cartridges, with initial delivery of 50,000 cartridges per month required 120 calendar days after award.
