Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program Clinical Trial Award

The Fiscal Year 2026 Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential for significant impact on disease treatment and management. This program funds two application categories: Clinical Trial Only, and Clinical Trial with Planning Phase, which supports final regulatory and planning activities before trial initiation. Animal studies and preclinical work are not supported. The program offers three funding levels based on trial phase and participant numbers, with maximum award amounts ranging from $6 million for Funding Level 1 to $20 million for Funding Level 3, plus an $800,000 cap for the planning phase. The maximum period of performance is 4 years for the clinical trial and 12 months for the planning phase. Awards are anticipated to be funded with FY26 funds, with awards made no later than September 30, 2027.
