The City of Chesapeake's Public Utilities Department requires welding and metal fabrication services to address needs that exceed their current staffing capacity for repairs on various city equipment. This solicitation is for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The contractor will be responsible for providing cleaning, sanding, painting, metal fabrication, welding, refurbishing, and repair work for city equipment, including structural steel, miscellaneous steel, and piping. The contractor must supply all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and site cleanup. Any materials purchased and used by the contractor will be billed at actual cost without markup. Emergency requests require a response within two hours, and routine requests within four hours. The contract requires a minimum of two certified welders with at least two years of experience, certified by the American Welding Society (AWS) in GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW.
