Invitation for Bids: New Lowboy Trailer

The City-County of Butte-Silver Bow is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of one new lowboy trailer. The trailer must have a capacity of 50 tons and be constructed with 100 KSI/80 KSI minimum yield steel. Key specifications include a 53' length, 102" width, a power folding gooseneck, and a 51" wheel height. It should feature a self-contained pony motor hydraulics system, a 26' deck length with hardwood decking, and external battery connection. The trailer must also include D-rings per side of the main deck, covered rear fenders, air ride suspension with three 25,000-pound capacity axles, each with air lift and air regulated height control. Brackets for future flip axle and/or spreader bar, 255/70R or 22.5 radial tires, and 8.25x22.5 steel disc wheels are also required. Braking system specifications include 16.5 x 7 drum brakes with spring brakes on two axles, and external easy access brake drains. The trailer will be equipped with DOT rubber-mounted LED lights, sealed harnesses, rubber anti-spray mud flaps, a wide load sign pocket, and third tail lighting with strobes. Surface preparation will involve carbide steel grit blast, and the paint finish will be black PPG 2-part polyurethane and primer. The successful bidder must provide a parts book, operation and maintenance manual, service manual, and electrical manual in both hardcopy and electronic versions. The delivery location is 93 Beef Trail Road, Butte, Montana, and all equipment must be delivered within 30 days from contract award.
