Description

Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement, on behalf of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, Animal Services, and Health Department, is soliciting bids for the collection and disposal of medical bio-hazard waste, sharps waste, and animal carcasses. The disposal method must be incineration in accordance with OSHA regulations. The selected contractor must possess all necessary licenses and registrations to operate in the State of Utah, Salt Lake County, and any applicable local jurisdictions. Compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws, as well as environmental best practices for biohazard waste disposal, is mandatory. A Certificate of Disposal from a qualified incineration facility must be provided for each pick-up. Regularly scheduled pick-ups will be determined by an attached schedule. All animal carcasses, on-site medical wastes, and sharps must be disposed of via incineration at an OSHA-approved facility. Overweight containers are not permissible, and additional fees for such will not be allowed.
