Tree Maintenance Services

Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA), the Management & Operating Contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory (INL), is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified vendors for comprehensive tree maintenance services. These services will support INL operations at both its Idaho Falls facilities and its desert site, located approximately 50 miles west of Idaho Falls. The scope of work includes annual structural pruning, canopy raising, removal of dead or hazardous limbs, tree felling and removal of diseased or dying trees, stump grinding, new tree planting, pest and disease monitoring and treatment, and application of fertilizers. The selected vendor will also be required to provide 24/7 emergency tree response for issues such as storm damage and hazardous limb removal. All work must be performed by an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist and comply with INL procedures, job safety analyses, federal and environmental regulations, including those related to nesting birds under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Vendors must also coordinate all work with INL Facility Management and adhere to all applicable safety requirements. This EOI is the initial step in identifying potential vendors for a future Request for Proposal (RFP). Interested vendors must submit their EOI by June 19, 2026, including company information, a description of services offered, relevant experience, certifications, safety program details, emergency response capabilities, staffing and capacity information, applicable NAICS codes, business size classification, and proof of ISA Certified Arborist qualifications.
