The County of Maui's Department of Water Supply is soliciting bids for the supply of soda ash. The contract will be for a period of one (1) calendar year from the "official commencement date" specified in the "Notice to Proceed" issued by DWS, with options for up to four (4) additional one-year extensions at the same bid prices, terms, and conditions. The estimated quantities for Maui are 2,677 bags of 50lb soda ash, and for Molokai are 24 bags of 50lb soda ash. The awarded vendor must maintain a minimum of 8 to 10 pallets (with 54 50lb bags per pallet) of soda ash on the island of Maui for DWS's exclusive use and pickup. For Molokai, the vendor shall ship stock to the Kaunakakai Dock. All product pricing must include all costs, insurance, taxes (except Federal Excise Tax), and freight charges. The vendor must also provide a 24-hour emergency contact for spills. A bid bond and performance bond are not required. Bidders must comply with Chapter 103D of the Hawaii Revised Statutes and submit bids electronically via the Public Purchase System by 10:00 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Bidders are also required to submit a current Tax Clearance Certificate, Certificate of Good Standing, and Certificate of Compliance via Hawaii Compliance Express.
