Description

The U.S. Standard Grants Program, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Migratory Bird Program, is a competitive matching grant program designed to support public-private partnerships. These partnerships will undertake projects focused on the long-term protection, restoration, and/or enhancement of wetland and associated upland habitats. The program aims to benefit a variety of wetland ecosystems and maintain healthy populations of waterfowl, other migratory birds, and associated wildlife, aligning with continental conservation plans. Projects must demonstrate a clear connection between conservation activities and long-term wetland benefits, ensuring cost-effectiveness and complementarity among grant-funded and partner-funded actions. A 1:1 non-federal match is required, and research funding is ineligible. The program supports the Department of the Interior and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's mission to conserve land and water resources through collaboration with stakeholders.
