Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Services

Middlesex County is seeking proposals for solid waste collection and/or disposal services for a period of three years, commencing on or about August 21, 2026, and ending on or about August 20, 2029. This solicitation consolidates requirements previously covered by contracts B-22-139 and B-23-446, with the new contract (B-26-446) to be managed by the Office of Infrastructure Operations. The scope of work includes providing various capacities of solid waste containers at county parks and facilities, and the subsequent collection, removal, and disposal of solid waste and recycling. The successful bidder will be responsible for all necessary supervision, labor, containers, maintenance, and equipment to perform these services in a sanitary manner. Specific requirements for container types, pickup schedules, and disposal at the Middlesex County Landfill are detailed in the specifications. The contract also includes provisions for recycling services and food waste recycling. Bidders are required to submit bids electronically through the Middlesex County's Electronic Procurement Portal by July 28, 2026, at 10:00 am. A bid guarantee of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, not to exceed $20,000.00, is required. Additionally, bidders must comply with various state and federal regulations, including equal employment opportunity requirements, business registration, and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance.
